The assignment aimed at supporting UNDP Vietnam and Ministry of Construction (MOC), Vietnam, in formulating “Energy Efficiency Improvement in Commercial and High-Rise Residential Buildings in Viet Nam” project. IIEC was required to lead and coordinate the project formulation team, draft, and finalize a full-sized GEF-UNDP Project Document (ProDoc); a GEF CEO Endorsement Request document and a detail project outline (DPO).
Following activities were covered by IIEC under this project: 1) Worked with national consultants to develop work plan and compile their inputs to the preparation of the ProDoc, the GEF CEO Endorsement Request and DPO (detailed contents of the ProDoc, CEO Endorsement Request). 2) Provided advice and guidance to national consultants to perform their tasks in the start-up phase and during the process; 3) Coordinated inputs and provided comments and advice to improve quality of national consultants’ technical inputs as needed; 4) Designed EE concepts for lighting and HVAC and implementation budgets for 16 EE building projects nationwide; 5) Drafted a comprehensive full-sized ProDoc, in line with UNDP and GEF requirements and government priorities; 6) Completed relevant GEF Tracking Tools/GEF climate change mitigation tracking tool as needed.
