Somsuklo Biswas, Project Manager

Mr. Somsuklo Biswas has an extensive background in the energy sector, with a primary emphasis on clean energy mobility, policy analysis for sustainable development, impact studies, strategy formulation, regulatory affairs, quality management, and project implementation. During his career, he has been involved in programs funded by multiple multilateral and donor organizations, including the World Bank, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), CLASP, and International Copper Association. Additionally, he has collaborated with various government and private utilities, as well as regulatory bodies such as Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission, Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission, Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited, K Raheja Corp SEZ etc.

His notable roles encompassed developing the business case for grid-integrated renewable energy and building integrated charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, advocating for and promoting solarization of irrigation in the Agriculture and Horticulture sectors, updating the RISE database for the 2022 RISE report, and designing incentive mechanisms to encourage the adoption and utilization of solar irrigation pumps. Furthermore, he played a key role in formulating strategies to promote and increase the adoption of electric vehicles in hilly regions.

Additionally, Mr. Biswas has provided support to multiple State Electricity Regulatory Commissions in the preparation of Tariff Orders, as well as in the examination, analysis, and resolution of Tariff Petitions filed by state and private utilities. He has also assisted various state and private utilities in the preparation and submission of Tariff Petitions. In the earlier stages of his career, he worked as a quality and testing engineer specializing in high-voltage and automotive cables.
